The tour includes ‘Gallery of Funeral Monuments’. There, participants can view several sculptures dedicated to the protagonists of Santa Croce in Pink. The tour will feature Pietro Freccia’s marble bust dedicated to 18th-century portraitist Ida Botti Scifoni, who was the protégé and interior decorator for Mathilde Demidoff and Russian magnate Anatoly Demidoff. Fortunata Sulgher Fantastici—one of Italy’s most celebrated improvisational poets—is also buried nearby. While one of the gallery’s most dramatic works includes Luigi Pampaloni’s tribute to famed opera star Virginia de Blasis, who died suddenly in 1837 at the age of 27.
