Two artists pay homage to Giorgio Morandi in an exhibit at the Casa Studio Morandi in Grizzana Morandi.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the birth of painter Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964), two exhibitions that pay homage to the painter until are in progress through October 30, 2014 at the Casa Studio Giorgio Morandi in the town of Grizzano Morandi, located between Florence and Bologna.
Omar Galliani Meets Morandi where the contemporary artist reflects on the paintings of the master and exhibits his drawings in the home/studio of Morandi. And through the lens of the camera, Luciano Leonotti investigates Morandi’s historical residence in Bologna. The house of the painter has been key to the development of the visual language of Morandi. The landscapes of Grizzana where Morandi stayed are reflected in his early works, and its light has become eternal in his still lifes. These are the themes of the photographic work that lingers even on small quotidian details, similar to the compositions painted by Morandi himself.
