Studio Art Centers International is proud to host a lecture by Elizabeth A. Sackler, PhD entitled Changing the Course: Women, Art & the Art Market. Dr. Sackler, a Public Historian and arts activist, is President of The Arthur M. Sackler Foundation, President and founder of the American Indian Ritual Object Repatriation Foundation, and Board Chair of the Brooklyn Museum – the first woman to hold the position in the museum’s nearly 200 year history. Dr. Sackler has served on the Board of the Brooklyn Museum since 2000 and in 2007 she founded the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum, a nexus of feminist art, theory and activism that provides a permanent home to The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago.

Elizabeth A. Sackler is a member of the Friends of SACI and a long-time SACI Matron. In 2004, the Elizabeth A. Sackler Museum Educational Trust SACI Scholarship was established by Dr. Sackler to support gifted female students desiring to study abroad at Studio Art Centers International. This scholarship continues to enable outstanding women who would not otherwise be able to attend the school to enroll at SACI.

A reception will be held at SACI after the presentation.
Free admission. Seats are limited.
