Photographs of Amalie R. Rothschild: Eyewitness to the ’60’s Rock Revolution is currently on view at the Colonne del Palazzo Comunale di Pontassieve near Florence through July 26 and from August 29 – September 26, 2015. Photographer, filmmaker, and SACI Artists Council Member, Amalie R. Rothschild, has also exhibited her work at the SACI Gallery (2005, 2009, 2011) .
From 1968-71, Amalie was the “unofficial” photographer of The Fillmore East of Bill Graham, where she was able to capture intimate portraits of the biggest musicians and singers from the history of music, from rock to jazz.
The exhibition includes iconic images of famous figures such as Janis Joplin,Tina Turner, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchel, Allman Brothers Band, Pink Floyd, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, & Yoko Ono.
Amalie was recently interviewed by the magazine IO Donna – Corriere della Sera newspaper (in Italian).
