SACI Alum, Paul Beel, and SACI Instructor, Pietro Manzo – finalists in Figurativas 2015 competition in Barcelona

Figurativas is one of the most prestigious international art competitions in the contemporary art scene, held in Barcelona, Spain. The Fundació Privada de les Arts i els Artistes seeks to promote and spread Figurative Art, and its main task is to encourage artistic initiatives and sponsor artists.

The Foundation holds an important figurative artist competition which has a first prize of up to €36,000 for figurative painting, and € 40,000 for figurative sculpture, and an acquisition fund established for the purchase of paintings.

In this year’s 8th edition Figurativas 2015, artist Paul Beel (SACI Alum – Spring 1994 and former SACI instructor) and artist and SACI instructor, Pietro Manzo both made it to the final rounds in front of a panel of tough judges including artists and experts in the field of contemporary figurative art.
