The exhibition Daniele Nannini: Animal Portraits opened last week in SACI’s Maidoff Gallery, on view through October 26, 2015.

Daniele Nannini, an illustrator, painter, and sculptor, and a member of the SACI Artists Council, is showing painting and sculpture that is intentionally playful and verging on kitch. One can’t help but laugh with the bright gorilla faces and find some relationship to the characters with ones we might know in humanity, even within ourselves.

Enjoyed by both children and adults alike, this colorful exhibition also includes two of his sculptures as 3D illustrations made with found materials. Read more about the artist and the exhibition here: “Daniele Nannini: Animal Portraits” in SACI’s Maidoff Gallery. See images from the opening night below (photos by Rustam Huseynov and Leon Jones).
