Deadline: February 12, 2016

There is still time to apply to SACI’s Florence Artist/Scholar Residency Program 2016. In its third year, this exciting residence opportunity is open to artists or scholars currently teaching at a college or university that is a member of the SACI Consortium. Member institutions are listed here.

SACI will offer a month-long residency in Florence, Italy, to an artist or scholar from May 30 – June 25, 2016. The residency includes a fully-equipped one-bedroom apartment in the historic center of Florence, near SACI’s two Renaissance palazzi. The award recipient will also receive studio or office space at SACI, access to the SACI Worthington Library, and have the opportunity to participate in SACI field trips to Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Siena, Fiesole, Arezzo and other important sites in Tuscany. The recipient is encouraged to give presentations in SACI classes about his or her art or scholarly work, join SACI instructors in critiquing students’ work, and to exchange ideas with SACI faculty and students.
