The images of Leo Matiz, a Colombian photographer born in the magical Macondo of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, reveal a vivid and personal image of the Mexican artist who lived during times of revolution and war, but also joy and hope. Twenty-seven photographs of different formats feature Frida Kahlo, immortalized in her native district of Coyoacan in Mexico City, and of her relationship with Diego Rivera, taken from the photographer’s perspective as a close friend.

The exhibition also presents contemporary sketches by Vanna Vinci, a study for a biography using comics as a graphic technique dedicated to Frida Kahlo to be published this fall.
