Paintings Out of Jail

April 9, Saturday, 10am-5pm ~ Paintings Out of Jail Symposium & SACI Gallery Exhibition (in Palazzo dei Cartelloni) on the historical, technical, and conservation research related to the restoration by SACI Conservation students and instructors of Baroque paintings from the Chiesa del San Giacomo al Forte in Porto Azzurro, Elba. This project was made possible by support from the Soprintendenza Belle Arti e Paesaggio for the Provinces of Pisa and Livorno. The paintings will be on view on April 9 only.

April 19, Tuesday from 5-7pm ~ Exhibition Opening: Selected works by SACI Body Archives students at the Museum of Anthropology, Via del Proconsolo 12. April 19 only. Museum admission is free.

 

Installation and Performance

April 20, Wednesday from 1:30-4pm ~Sugar / Failure: Installation & Performance Pieces by students in SACI’s Installation & Performance Art class (in the courtyard, gallery, garden, and stairwell at SACI’s Jules Maidoff Palazzo). Twelve pieces explore the meaning of the interaction between the artwork and the viewer. The installations and the performances will be visible in different places of the building in a choral display in which the students express their personal vision and synthesize their experience as a group. April 20 only.

April 21, Thursday, In the Clayton Hubbs Lecture Hall at SACI’s Palazzo dei Cartelloni:
6:30-7:00pm ~ Reading/Performance of works by SACI Creative Writing instructor Lee Foust and students in SACI’s Creative Writing class.
7:00-7:30pm  ~  Screening of works by students in SACI’s Video class.
