Make your mark on the Italian literary scene
The Florentine Literary Review will be published by The Florentine newspaper and publishers in Florence, Italy. TheFLR’s editorial board has already selected the authors and poet who will delight the pages of the first edition of the publication, but we’re still missing a key component. The illustrator of TheFLR will be a central character, an author in his or her own right, whose pen or pencil will etch the diverse stories of the magazine according to his or her personal style and own take on the theme of Invasion/Flood.
Deadline: June 24, 2016. Find out how to apply here.
You are invited to submit a gif that investigates the concept of living/room.
All interpretations are welcome. Unexpected solutions are appreciated.
What is a living room? A room for living? A room that is alive?
Where does the living room begin and end?
What do you do in your living room?
Can our living room extend into public spaces?
All submitted gifs will be projected at salotto_uno at numeroventi on June 19 from 8:30 pm-midnight. To attend the event you must submit a gif related to the theme living/room by JUNE 10. The open call is open to everyone.
SALOTTO_UNO WILL HAPPEN IN TWO PHASES:
>>>JUNE 19: 10:30-7pm A one-day MICRO-RESIDENCY invites a selected group of participants from the fields of art and design to develop a series of works using digital media and projection mapping to engage with the spaces of numeroventi, a new salotto in Florence hosting artist residencies, exhibitions and events. Participants will learn basic video and projection mapping techniques (if they are not already familiar with them), working under the guidance of David Hartono and with the other participants. Video works will be mapped onto the spaces of numeroventi and projected during the inauguration of the project on June 19.
The focus of the micro-residency is living/room, which calls into question the role of this space, and its potential conceptual and physical extension.
Participation is by invitation or application. To learn more or apply contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your CV, portfolio or ideas.
There is no fee for the micro-residency.
Participants must bring their own computer.
Programs used: Resolume Arena (provided)
Optional programs : Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, Illustrator…
Optional materials: SLR camera, projector
