Keri Rosebraugh (SACI MFA in Studio Art Graduate, 2016) will show at the International Video Art Festival Now&After, opening at the State Darwin Museum in Moscow on October 27th. The 2016 festival theme is ECOLOGY WITHOUT BORDERS.
Now&After ‘16 focuses on the ecology of culture, social ecology, political ecology, and the complex relationship between humans and the environment. Rosebraugh will be showing a video piece created while in an artist residency program sailing on the Arctic Ocean around Spitsbergen, Norway, titled A Letter To My Sister.
“Last year I took a flight from the Arctic to Svalbard, Norway, which is a lonely group of islands, located almost at the top of the world. This area has one of the world’s fastest changing landscapes with the most extreme changes in seasons. This video titled A Letter To My Sister represents the fragility of both humans and our planet as well as reminding us that all things are temporary.” – Keri Rosebraugh
Rosebraugh is also exhibiting in Plantarium, an exhibition in Treviso, Italy. Plantarium highlights “the beauty of nature through the magic of art” and is a world composed of plants, interactive art, projections and futuristic settings, explained according to the latest research in the field of neuro-biology and physiology. Art serves as a liaison between the objectivity of science and subjectivity of indivudual thought.
The exhibition is on view through January 8, 2017 at Casa dei Carraresi. www.casadeicarraresi.it

Keri Rosebraugh’s art is driven by her interest in the connections between humans and how those parallel our relationship to the environment. She utilizes natural materials juxtaposed with fabricated objects to establish a contact between man and nature. Works are often temporary and created using materials and elements on site, which decompose in time – symbolic to the cycle and regeneration of our planet. Rosebraugh’s practice is based on the exchange of ideas and resources, sometimes with direct participation of people as possible vehicles for social change.
