SACI’s new Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art Summer Low-Residency Program, starts May 2017, deadline to apply: March 15
Studio Arts College International is proud to announce that, starting in May 2017, students can enroll in SACI’s unique new graduate-degree program—the only 3-year Summer Low-Residency MFA in Studio Art offered entirely in Europe by a US-accredited school. Applications for admission to this program are now being reviewed. The application and scholarship deadline is March 15.
For three successive summers, students live and work in Florence, Italy. They pursue a curriculum that integrates practical and critical skills and encourages individual innovation, creative collaboration, mentorships, and instruction from SACI’s outstanding faculty.
Working in their own individual studios in a fully renovated Renaissance palazzo in the heart of Florence, students are just steps away from the great works that have drawn artists past and present to Florence to seek inspiration and develop their own pictorial language.
In their graduate seminars, students explore a range of contemporary art practices, visit artists in their studios, and meet museum curators, art critics, and gallerists. Students travel to major art sites, attend international art fairs throughout Italy, gain experience as Teaching Assistants, and are encouraged, through individual practice and group critiques, to explore their creativity fully in order to realize their potential as artists.
